About InterlockCompare
InterlockCompare is a reference for people who have been told to put an ignition interlock in their car. When that happens you usually get a list of approved companies and not much else, so this site collects what you'd otherwise have to dig out of statutes, state agency pages and company fine print: who has to install one, for how long, what it costs for the whole order, and what each company charges when something goes wrong.
We don't make, sell, lease or install interlocks, and no interlock company owns or edits this site.
What you'll find here
- State guides built from each state's statute and program page, with the source quoted next to every fact.
- Company pages with device details and fee schedules, including the itemized fees companies file with New York State.
- A state-by-state table of interlock requirements you can download and reuse.
Read how we check the numbers and how the site makes money. If something here is wrong, tell us.
Nothing on this site is legal advice. Your court order and your state's instructions are what apply to you.
